All The Bright Places

so first of funny story turns out I had my comments off.... so if you were trying and it wasn't letting you...now we know why... please if you have ever wanted to comment do so! i would love to talk too yall and hear opinions book requests etc. and secondly i have major tests so the next two weeks will probably not see a review because i wont have time to read and it turn wont have time to write. now lets begin with all the bright places by jennifer niven. upfront warning there are themes of teen suicide through out the book if that triggers or upsets you don't read this. so our book starts out with finch and violet, they meet on the top of a bell tower and are both about to jump. its not really clear who saves who. sam is a pretty depressed kid who spends long stretches of time "asleep" and thinks about death ever day (the how, when, and why of it all) and violet is a girl who crawled into a shell after her sisters death and is determined to avoid the world at all costs. but oddly enough when they meet sam wakes up and violet wants to live again. theres is a heart breaking story of finding strength in yourself when forces unknown make you want to end it all. i absolutely loved this book it is beautifully tragic and one of those coming of age stories i recommend (for everyone) but specifically young adults who are around the same age of our characters. you will cry. there will be tears. you will want to jump into the book and hold them and make it all ok. but you cant. fair warning. this is a wonderful coming of age story and there are so many quotable profound scenes i cant pick out my favorite. niven writes so many lines that speak volumes in truth, one being “The thing I realize is, that it's not what you take, it's what you leave.” another being “Sorry wastes time. You have to live your life like you'll never be sorry. It's easier just to do the right thing from the start so there's nothing to apologize for.” this novel teaches us that time is precious and to make the most of what we are given, we can be anyone we choose to be, sometimes people are hurting in ways you can't see, and that life can be lovely if you make it. if you enjoyed paper towns or most john green works you will probably be a fan of this. i ultimately walked away from this book feeling smarter, maybe not school smarts but life smarts. there isn't much else to say because this book kind of speaks for itself. please read it. i bet a quarter you will enjoy it. let me know if you have or did and comment your opinion.
thanks for reading
