Hopeless

hellllooooo people of this universe and other universes (if you are reading this and classify your self as an extra terrestrial call me i need a cotillion date) finals are finally over!! infinite joy and happiness not to mention now i can actually get in the christmas spirit. thank God for glee christmas songs.  so after making it through finals (relatively) unscathed i decided to curl up in my room jam to my glee and plow through books i had been saving as an after finals treat! yay christmas! yay books! yay charlie brown! so on the first night of my freedom i snuggled up with colleen hoover's Hopeless. i guess we are gonna go ahead and get started. after you. no really go ahead. okay if you insist. Hopeless follows our main character Sky -crap my friends are here i'll be back tomorrow to finish this- *one day later*
wow when i said one day later and its march 27th. bitch you thought. um so where were we? what book was this even? OH GOD I REMEMBER THIS ONE!!!!!! in case anyone's curious i went to cotillion with my church friend who is unfortunately from this planet. oh wow yall this has me shook. okay hopeless. what was that chicks name again??? okay sky that was it! so sky lives with her adoptive mom has a best friend and if i remember correctly she kind of keeps to herself and hoes around a bit but you know what? we don't judge here. hoe it up sky. so she meets this guy dean holder. and her friend's are like
NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO
because usually when your bestie has the hots for a guy everyone thinks is a sociopath you TRY TO TELL THEM TO SHUT THOSE FEELINGS DOWN REAL QUICK. unfortunately dean and sky hit it off and she cant quite figure out how she knows him but she does. okay so um as previously mentioned it is march three months later and i remembering this book and going through the whole emotional experience all over again. and holy shit. was it an experience. so this is the most crazy plot twist i have ever read. and all i do is read. so thats saying something. you can sit there thinking of every possible way this could end and i would bet you a bunch of money you could never guess the ending. it was one of those books where the ending shocked me so much i had to put it down for a day just to process. i mean theres some cutesy romance and some drama but honestly if it werent a literary sin id say skip to the end of the book because the last 50 pages is where the magic happens. this book does have some triggers but because spoilers im gonna go ahead and just say enter at your own risk, if any adult material usually put in trigger warnings bothers you then this book will too. the book itself is well written and the characters arent annoying or shallow or anything which is nice. i think the plot twist is so amazing its hard to think of anything else. well i guess thats all for my blast from the past. if you like books that leave you shook read this.

lets talk about #firstworldproblems when i should be doing class work

sup ma dudes. its monday and yall know what that means! it means im sitting in class writing this instead of working! this is clearly the better use of my time and i thought i would do a little somethin different. dye my hair purple, speak in a british accent, shake it up a bit. just kidding d. i was thinking...jk no i wasnt. i was doing the opposite of thinking, i was floating in a void of nothingness. because thats what we do in school. alright im kind of just rambling this wont be a book review so if thats what you're here for go do something else love ya bye. okay now that we have weeded out the fake fans lets have a chit chat. so i have a mile long book shelf in my room and i was thinking yesterday about all the new books i wanted to read and i thought...i have no money. then i looked at my dusty ass shelf and thought...lets sell some of these books. then i slit my throat with a butter knife and went all
Image result for lord of the rings gollum my precious gif
then i came back to planet earth and had a pep talk with myself, there are a few of these that sucked lets be real and quite a few you will never read again, just sell them. and i agreed with my inner voice that a trip to half price books with someone over the age of 18 ( apparently you need to be an adult to sell books..) so i m going to be getting some new books, trouble is i have no clue what to read. so my friends please i beg of you comment and let me know what my next literary obsession should be!!!! also super fun story time ive been waiting for the third part of this series to come out for months and when this woman said beginning of 2017 she didnt mean january....or february....or march. i get writing is difficult but goodness the sequel ended with someone being dragged into the woods AND I NEED CLOSURE! also jennifer l armentrou if you ever read this respond to my freaking email please and thank you. i guess i should probably get back to work thank, yall for sticking with me through these dry days when we have no time for reading because learning is important. have a fabulous day my lovlies!

The Book Of Ivy

helllloooooo people of the internet. welcome to the part of the review where i talk about my boring life to people who really could care less and just wanna hear about the damn books, if you are interested in my happiness thank you kind human. you are appreciated. if you are wishing id just get on with it please know you are the reason i cry myself to sleep every thursday. so i finished this series (two books) in 24 hours. ya i have no life. ill jump into the review. then off a high balcony.  the book of ivy by Amy Engel is a dystopian novel which takes place in westfall, a little city filled with political issues. westfall is one of the last cities to stay standing after plagues, famine, bombs, and more plague hit the globe. theres a crap ton of issues between the founding families like while one wants a fair government the other is a tyrant. in the end the tyrant wins and proclaims that on the 16th-18th birthdays of the teens they will marry into a different social class (he did this to make sure if the other families wanted to rise up their children would be married to their enemies and on the other side) so ivy westfall turns 16 and goes of to be wed against her will and trust me when i say she is not a happy camper, she is being married off to the son he president. basically three generations after the whole tyranny vs. democracy issue they are forcing their children into marriage to ensure peace. here's the catch: ivy has been trained by her father and her mission is to kill her soon to be husband bishop lattimer. here's the OTHER catch...she may just start feeling things for the boy she has been raised to hate and trained to kill. DUN DUN DUN. okay so. first of all i like how this dystopian world is set up. there is a lot of living of the land but they are also aware of things that existed before the shit hit the fan, such as bras. its very funny to be in a dystopian setting hunting for food and mention something as normal as a bra. another thing i enjoyed about this book is when ivy and bishop are forced into marriage they act fumbly and awkward and boyy oh boy did i scream THAT WOULD BE ME. they often poke fun at it too, like when they're first married they just look at each other..."so do you want a sandwich?". welcome to married life ladies and gents, its a blast. the characters are super well written and have lots of depth behind them, i think the best part of this book is that ya by reading the back cover you can figure out they probably fall in love and shes conflicted because shes been raised to hate him blah blah blah. but theres so much more to the stories, family issues that have stayed buried are brought to light and things get shaken up. it's a fairly quick read and nothing to complicated that it will leave you confuse, it's nice if you want an easy read that's still interesting. i would recommend reading this if you like matched or defy. have a fabulous life

The Enlighten Series

*universal intro theme music plays* welcome children, elderly, teens, and extra terrestrials to this a most epic review of the enlighten series. its been a pretty good week a cute boy asked me on a date so that's freaking cool. i tried to be smooth like all the kick ass heroines in my books but i just turned bright red and smiled like a chubby nub. oh well. so in other awesome news i have been in contact with kristin van resseghem about when she will be writing the third book in the series (there are two books so far and a third on the way) and anyhow i just feel like i need to make it clear I DO NOT GET PAID FOR THIS. trust me i wish i did. and kristin van resseghem did not contact me asking me to do this.... i stalked her like a crazy fangirl and i feel like its only fair to repay her kind emails with a review. so here we go. swords and stilettos or the enlighten series as it is also known is a pretty great series about a girl named zoe jabril. zoe is just an average run in the mill teen until out of literally no where her best friends reveals hes her guardian angel and she is fated to bring together fairies, werewolves, nephilim, and angels together to fight evil. did i mention there is nephilim who is super cute and when they touch she gets a lil shock. 0 to 100 REAL FREAKING QUICK. join zoe as she makes new friends and keeps the old one is silllvverr and the others golllddddd. sorry. but like not really. come join zoe as she figures out that there are so many mystical and magical things in her life that she never knew about, watch as she touches an electric cattle fence every time she bumps into a cute boy, and come listen to words. it's a book so theres bound to be words. okay i feel like the first thing i need to say is the first few pages you meet zoe and the slightly girly title coupled with the fact that she says something along the lines of i looked into the window of a store and made sure not one hair on my head was out of place and then starts talking about her coffee order and all i could think was "oh great shes gonna be one of those annoying girls who is worried about a chipped nail while running from demons". but trust me when i say this is the only vain thing she says a page or so later you see the real her who honestly doesnt care about what people think and starts to kick ass which is just awesome. honestly i loved the story it was fairly simple but not borning and pretty easy to keep up with. the characters are all well written and none of them annoy or vex me so thats great. AND OH. THE CLIFFHANGER. lets just say the end of the second book in the series is one of the most intense cliffhangers i have read next to the marked series or the oxygen series. i am a big fan of the stories with the main characters who basically pull a hannah montana, like one day they are average and the next they are fighting monsters and evil. BUT. and i mean this is a kardashian sized but. there are some stories where the main character has this life switch and they suck at fighting evil or they have a crap attitude about the whole thing and then there are the main characters that take to these completely new worlds or battles like a duck to water. this book is the latter. zoe isnt a damsel in distress and she kind of slays the whole situation, im the savior of the world?? *panics for a few hours* okay im ready lets do this. overall it was a solid read i do recommend it for anyone who is into paranormal romance. comment for suggestions
