Tone Deaf

its been a shatty day friends. shatty like i want to curl up with my shatty grades and escape my shatty life except i don't have any books to read at the moment because i finished them all because i am a shatty fast paced reader. and i loved this book so much it gave me some hope for the future. and then i realized no cute lead singer is going to smuggle me away in his RV. and then it was shat again. BUT MOVING ON FROM MY ISSUES. tone deaf by olivia rivers was my entertainment this weekend and it was fabulous. tone deaf follows ali collins who was a musical prodigy before she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which when upon removed rendered her deaf. so she uses ASL and reads lips and is abused by her asshole father. guy has deep issues. when she goes to a concert she meets jace beckett who is a dreamy singer for her best friends favorite band. when he sees the bruises on her he realizes whats going on and offers to help her escape. soon she becomes drawn back into the world of music and she falls in "the feels" with jace who may have a few more layers than she first assumed... so this is a fabulous book if you don't want to get invested in a series it's great for a car trip or a short period of time it took me about a day to finish. so my friend (you know who you are so shout out and i think i left my bathing suit at your house) and i are learning asl together so personally i found this book super interesting because i could picture the signs they were doing. now can i just say something about love. my favorite thing (besides sliding through the house with socks on) is losin my mind in a sweet story about finding love against the odds. HOWEVER books like these set girls expectations to high because no matter how sweet and perfect a boy is that poor boy will never be jace beckett and that poor girl will have to settle. so some people say don't read these books it sets the bar to high and makes real boys look crappy. my refute: i like this boy *he shall remain nameless because in the words of river song spoilerzzz* and he will never be jace beckett *tears* but at the same time jace beckett could never be that boy. that boy is special in a lot of ways these fictional characters aren't so shout out to you mystery boy. im going of on so many tangents its horrible and i apologize profusely. i loved this book because it was a sweet story (some themes of domestic violence through out if that makes you uncomfortable don't read this) ill leave yall with this: read this book and fall in love with its characters but remember there are real people who may not be as great those characters...they also may be better.
thanks for reading
