Hush Hush

So i just finished reading the hush hush series by becca fitzpaterick last night at like two in morning and i don't know if it was because i was sleep deprived or what but the end of this series pissed me off. the first book was good enough but the other three honestly were in my opinion sub-pare. i guess ill start of with a quicky summary. hush hush is about nora grey, who is a responsible straight A student, who meets patch, a mysterious boy with a troubled past. turns out he is a fallen angel who wants nothing more than to become human again, nora is drawn to patch and because she likes the way his face looks she is drawn into an ancient battle between good and evil..oops so basically this series is a supernatural romance but in my opinion the supernatural stuff is not that exciting and the romance is extremely dull. ill start of by saying this is the second series ive read that makes use of creatures such a nephilim or angels (the first would be sweet evil) and i have to say between the two hush hush did an inferior job of using them, although it was not the same story i couldnt help but think while i was reading it that these werent the ass kicking enslaved nephs id read about in sweet evil but rather the victimized poor thangs that had much more ability than they ever put into use. i mean these guys could theoretically eff up your mind however when war breaks out they decided to fight like....normal people? YOU HAVE PHSYCH WARFARE UNDER YOUR BELT AND YOU DIDNT THINK TO PULL IT OUT?! i kept expecting some really cool fighting scenes and i didnt really get any that were too great. oh well. next i need to address the romance. the emotions in this book literally gave me a headache. some times its okay to be a little petty or to be jealous but i swear nora doesnt go five pages without thinking patch is cheating on her its like every other second is a do you even love me? prove you love me?! i thought you loved me?!?! like good lord woman calm down the crazys. the lord blessed patch with some patience if someone accused me of anything that often id be long gone. also they are constantly hot and cold back and forth you are almost begging them to go to couples therapy by the end of it all. finally Fitzpatrick and her twist endings. each one of these books ends in a twist however EACH BOOK HAS THE SAME TWIST. in book 1,2,&4 there is a character who you will think is just an ordinary minor character doin there thang and bam they end up being the bad guy. the first book i was okay with this twist, second book had me wondering if this twist was a tad familar and by the forth book i already knew who to be suspicious of and sure enough WHAM IM SECRETLY THE VILLIAN MWAHAH. didnt see that coming. at all. im tryin to say i liked how she made it a bit of a twist ending and surprised the readers however each book had pretty much the exact same twist so it wasnt that surprising by the end. overall i wouldn't recommend this book, the romance was more 8th grade empty i loves yous and one&offs than anything and the fighting and action dulled in comparision to other books. this maybe your thing but it wasnt really mine. comment below if you have a diff opinion id love to chat
thanks for reading
