hello people of earth. i need to rant real quick because i mean i dont need to explain myself im just gonna rant. so its a saturday night my friends are out dancing or at lollapalooza or partyin it up and im here at home. blogging. yall see how its hard to get into this when i want to be dancing right now? also i met this cute boy and he makes it real hard to focus on things like blogging about a book i didnt much care for. now i may be a bit angry at this book because when i went to get a different book from the library it was out of stock so basically i grabbed this because i knew if i didnt have anything to read i would be bored ALL weekend. so i just snagged this one and i kind of forced myself to read it. now if school books and this book have taught me anything its that if you read a book you dont 100% want too read for yourself you wont like it no matter how good it is. im so mad at this book i could light it on fire and throw it off a bridge however it is not cassandra clares fault that the book i wanted to read was out off stock, mrs clare didnt not force me to read this book, i did this to myself. now im gonna review this damn book try not to think about this damn cute boy and all my friends having so much damn fun. damn. *deep calming breathes* sit back relax and enjoy. i mean if you want too. no pressure. so the mortal instruments follows fifteen year old clary fray as she heads to a night club and witnesses a murder committed by a group of teens covered in ink, however when she calls security they disappear to everyone but her. soon after her mother disappears and in a desperate attempt to get her back she is thrust into a world she was made to forget. read along as clary discovers all the secrets of her life that were hidden deep on her mind. meet jace, a cute shadowhunter with nice hair and a shatty attitude. meet adorkable simon who you will want to hug because he kind of gets friendzoned so hard it hurts to watch. and finally meet church, the smart cat who can take you anywhere you want to go in the institute. where do i begin. well this book is not that bad let me start with that, i read it under bad circumstances and im salty so i feel the need to trash this book but it wasnt that bad. i also saw the movie first WHICH IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE BOOK so i had a different idea of what the book would be like and while it definitely wasnt what i thought it would be BUT it wasnt necessarily bad. now the main thing i found to be good about this book was that clare made this whole world and it felt so real. many times books focus on the story and keeps it in a little bubble but not this one ohhhhhhh no clare made sure the readers knew everything about this secret supernatural world, like i could have an hour long discussion on the politics of the shadowhunters and not even mention the characters and their issues. i think its safe to say when you know an imaginary society's political system as well as your own then the author has done their job. claps for cassandra. now i didnt really care for how high and mighty the shadowhunters were the whole book, i mean i wanted more than anything for clary to have some kick ass oh look a mundane just saved your sorry butt moment but she never really got that...i mean i was ready too rep for the human race, jump into the book, and fight some vampires but since thats not gonna happen ill just sit back and watch as we are poorly represented by a girl who runs around aimlessly a lot. finally ill tell you what kind of had me laughing this whole book. this chick is fifteen. she is getting into night clubs, killing demons, running wild through the city. and shes fifteen. how is she even getting into a night club at fifteen?! i mean sure there are fake ids but youd think the bouncer would say hmmmm maybe i shouldnt let you in you look a little too prepubescent for this. im looking at my pictures from when i was fifteen and i looked like a goober for goodness sakes alive youd have to be blind or dumb to have let mini me into a night club. i guess thats about all i have to say about this book. its good enough but if you arent feelin it dont force yourself to finish because you will end up salty like me. comment below if you dont have anything better too do. thanks for reading
