Shadow Falls

alright so i just got my wisdom teeth out today and because i am unable to do literally anything else be expecting a few more posts in the next day or two. furthermore, i will address this point in my critiques below, i read this series in two days. there are five books. each are about 300 pages. now given the fact that i read this in a hot second, summarizing will be a bit difficult because it all kind of blends together at this point. that being said if this summary bit is confusing go ahead and google it. so our series begins with kylie whose parents have just been divorced and in an act of rebellion she attends a rowdy party which is busted by the police. her mom then sends her to a camp for trouble teens even though kylie didnt drink or do drugs at this party and she is overall a good kid. as she gets to this camp she realizes these teens may be troubled but they definitely arent human and they all believe she isnt either. through out the series they try to figure out what species kylie is, two gorgeous boys fight for her attention, and a creepy man tries to kill her multiple times. i enjoyed this series a bunch, it didnt beat out my current favorites, but it was still pretty awesome. i really liked the variety of paranormal creatures cc hunter used, i have read plenty of paranormal books but none had this kind of variety. it makes it so interesting not havin just your generic paranormal creatures. i also LOVED the fight scenes. i have mentioned before in other posts how crazy it makes me for people with epic powers to have subpar fight scenes and let me promise you the fights in shadow falls do not disappoints. kylie kicks ass, her friends kick ass, EVERYONE KICKS ASS. its just fabulous. i loved that the characters were very modern day and relatable while still being paranormal. also i love all these characters so so much like i would love to go hang out with these people. now you are probably wondering "kayleigh if you liked this book so freaking much why did it not surpass your current favorites." well its none of your damn business. just kidding. please dont exit out. well curious reader if you must know there were a few parts of this book i didnt care for to terribly much. nothing that would prevent me from loving it as much as i do but just enough to keep it from becoming my favorite. allow me to elaborate. i did not like that this series (which was made into five books) probably could have been four or three books if they had cut some of the unnecessary bits out. something that i guess kind of goes with that point is that all five books blended together, if you wanted any closure from this story you had to finish the whole series unlike many other series where each book in them offers a specific amount of closure. uh uh no sire not this series. if you want to know what she is, who she picks, if she defeats her enemies, or literally anything else you have to get to book five. basically dont expect to read one and not feel like you have to read all five. you will want to. like it or not. (this is why i read all five in two nights not because i had too or was rushed i just HAD TO KNOW THE END) i may need therapy i think i have a book addiction. i think the only other thing i didnt care for was that there were a few parts that were unnecessary too the book. like this one scene that just had me asking, why? kylie is standing around doing lord knows what when a decapitated head (ghost head) falls to her feet and she screams and kicks it away like a soccer ball. and they never mention it again. they just continue on the next chapter like it never happened. i dont know where cc hunter was headed with that one. please go back and reread that sentence if you didnt get the joke. if yall dont notice it i will cry myself to sleep tonight. i think thats about all i have to say on shadow falls. in my opinion its a good read and 100% my type of book. i suggest you read it. comment below if you want to fight me. or talk about books. sorry the post surgery meds are messing with my feelings.
thanks for reading
