Strange Angels

warning: this is not a kind review. note my frequent use of capitalization and angry exclamation marks. proceed with caution

dear people of the internet, i am having a shitty day. not just a shitty day, nay a day that belongs in the toilet. courtesy flush required. in order to perk up my mood im going to trash a book that blinded me with what felt like enjoyment and shoved it all where the sun don't shine in the last chapter. that's right friends lili st. crow's strange angels. yall know how i roll by now so lets start of with a brief summary. the series follows dru (they ask her what its short for but either i skimmed the bit where they told us or they never actually tell us her full name) who was raised as a supernatural hunter of all things that go bump in the night (shes also the fifth ghostbuster) she meets graves a lowley kind of homeless goth boy. when her father is killed and turned into a zombie shes pretty much screwed and alone, graves offers her helped and she accidentally drags him into the world of the supernatural (not many people know of the supernatural world in this book btw) he gets bit by wulfen and turns into a kind of human with wolf abilities. anyhoot they go on the run from this crazy vampire who wants dru because shes special *i cant say anymore bc spoilerssss* and get aid from this extremely cute djamphir named cristophe who manages to answer every question with a question. hes "mysterious" which makes me want to "shoot him". now the rag tag bunch along with some other characters must help dru embrace her destiny, live happily ever after, and try not to die in the mean time. so this book had me absolutely captivated for some time and i wont deny it. BUT THERE WAS SO MUCH FILLER WRITING! one word. unnecessary. i skimmed a lot in this book only because so much of it felt unnecessary or useless. which got me bored. which got me sad. which got me pissy. which lead me here. i love the general idea of this story if you were to tell me this book and leave out the extra stuffing id be a happy little peach however that aint happenin. i liked all the creative terms and them randomly speaking some european language every now and then and i actually googled it afterwards so i guess that's positive. now for this book i kept telling myself just get past this boringness and itll get good but surprise surprise it did not. let the shit show continue. the courtesy flush is now a demand. the ending is anitclimatic to say the least, dru could has two great love intrests and after fighting her feelings and crap this whole book, she has some split second epiphany and decides she doesn't want anything with anyone. because that's fun. so many more things i hate about the ending but none i can disclose without spoiling. another thing that bothered me about this book was how repetitive it got i mean, i get how over a series some points need to be repeated but this book assures that you could jump in on book three and youll get what happened in the first two books because they reiterate so much. the funny thing is they sound pretty much like the same sentences, i dare you to count how many times dru says some form of "i lived below the Mason-Dixon" i. dare. you. i mean saying it once of twice sure but i counted more than 15 times that same phrase was used i mean for petes sake WE GET IT YOUR SOUTHERN. probably the most annoying part of this book was dru, she had a bit of either an "i can do it myself" attitude or a martyr complex at most times, she literally throws her self in dangerous situations to prove that she can do anything and everything because shes dru! solid logic my friends. and the worst is that she isn't even good at saving people and puts them in more danger by trying to save them too many times to count. WHICH IS ANNOYING AF. if your gonna put in a headstrong heroine who don't need no help from no body at least let her give her some kick butt scenes in which she really needs no help from nobody. now i thought hating on this book would make me feel better but it just made me sad. i had such high hopes for this book and i turned a blind eye at every flaw but i just cant deal with anticlimactic endings, repetitive sentences, and pathetic heroines. i just cant. i read this book online and im glad because if i had the paper copy things would've gotten violent. i would say don't read this, unless you really want too. keep looking because their is much material to read than this. im exhausted and i have a bio test so i must away to study. comment please i really want to hear yalls feedback. thanks for reading

if anyone knows what dru is short for TELL ME! even google doesn't know :(((
